Nicholas Coleopy
Details that I know about Nicholas Coleopy are:
Name: Nicholas Coleopy. If there is a second Christian name, I do not know it. Family name could be spelled Collopy. Other spellings could be used, but I have not seen them used for him.
Birth: Believed born in London, England.
Calculated from age given at date of enlistment as given in his Army Account
Book, he was born in July, 1848.
Calculated from age given on Death Notice Card, he was born in 1849.
The parish in which he was born is not known. If a guess were made, I would
suggest Westminster or a parish near it.
I have not yet been able to find his birth certificate. Some in the family
think he may have been an illegitimate child, and/or adopted.
Marriage: From the marriage certificate:
Married Hannah Anderson at St. Philllipe's and St. James' Church, Whitton, Middlesex, England,
16 August, 1875. Nicholas' father is given as also Nicholas Coleopy,
but so far have found no trace of him.
Death: Died at age 52 (according to Death Notice
Card).
Buried at West Ham Cemetery, West Ham, Essex,
31 August, 1901.
