Dady
Marion Wood is trying to find out more about the
Dady branch in her family tree.
The first Dady that she has recorded is Robert of Great Moulton, England.
All that she has on him is that he married a Margaret on July 5, 1579.
In the ninth generation she has a John, born March 20, 1828 marrying Hannah
Ann (Amelia) Whur or Whurr on March 13, 1849 in Filby. Their
son, James Whur Dady, born May 1, 1856 married Charlotte Gotts, April
20, 1875 in Holton, St. Peter, Suffex. Their third child of 13
was Dorothy Dady born Sept. 2, 1895 in Hensby, Suff. who married Thomas Wood
in Vancouver, B.C., Marion's husband's father. Her understanding is that
there were many knights (Sirs) back in the 14th and 15th centuries.
The name Dady was spelled several different ways.
