John Johnson
My Grandfather, John Johnson, was born in Yorkshire, Middlesbrough,
England abt. 1882, May 24th.and came to Canada in the mid to late 1890’s.
Relatives have told me, and there are not many left, that he was a Home
Child and was brought over with the Dr. Barnardo people. However, I
recently had a second reply from them that there is no one by that name in
their records that matches my Grandfather for the times that I reported to
them. I asked that a second search be done just to make sure.
This picture was taken with 3 of his children and the baby was my mother.

She was born in Montreal, Quebec, 30 Apr. 1919. My Grandmother was
Marie Louisa Johnson, nee Rochon , born in Marquette, Michigan, USA, 25 May
1891. I have been on the LAC site and found a few John Johnsons on the
Passenger Lists but as yet have not been able to confirm any of these names.
The years I have searched for travel to Canada are from 1894 to 1897.
I also have copies of the Marriage and Death Certificates of these
Grandparents.

Thank you for any help you may find. Mark Robson.
