Agnes Winnifred Macluskie

Father: John Mackluskie
Mother: Annie m.s. Mann

Born about 1890 in Glasgow, Scotland.  Year of birth approximated from 1891 and 1901 Census.

Arrived in St. John's, New Brunswick, Canada on April 5, 1920 on the vessel Grampion which departed from London, England.

Winnifred left Scotland with her sister Nettie.  After arriving in Canada, they made their way to the Toronto area.  In the summer, they worked in Lake Hospital and in the winter months at the Eaton Factory.

During WWI she worked in London, England.  She met a Canadian soldier there who was later wounded and invalided back home.  They remained in contact.  After they reunited, Winnifred met his family who lived in a village about 40 miles from Toronto.  They were married in an Anglican church not far from Berkley St. East in Toronto and then lived in the same village as his family.  His last name was Scott.  By the fall of 1923 they had two children.

During this same period, Nettie married a butcher and they lived in a Toronto suburb.

Other than her sister, Winnifred left her parents and 4 other siblings (1901 census) in Scotland and, apparently, did not have any further contact with anyone in Scotland.
