Colonel Thomas Rea came to Canada in 1820 from county Fermangh, Ireland following active service at the Battle of Waterloo. The book Land of Plenty, describes his interest in the development of the area around Reaboro in the Lindsay district of Ontario. His wife (name unknown) arrived in Canada in 1822 along their family of five sons (James, Isaac, Thomas, John, William) and five daughters (names unknown).
